Jo Merrick
Client Services Manager
“I oversee the running of all the Helping Hands projects. I love my job because every day is different. I love meeting new people and supporting them is very rewarding. I first became involved as a volunteer with the women’s support group for several years and then became employed here two years ago. I have three children and two stepchildren which makes for a very busy house! I am very creative and love to try out different crafts with my children.”

Sarah Smith
Business Operations Manager
“I look after the behind the scenes day to day operations at Helping Hands, covering Finance and HR. I love numbers, spreadsheets and a good balance sheet. Outside of work I’m kept busy by my four children. As a family we love to travel and explore new places.”

Kevin Thornton
Lead Male Support Worker
“I’ve been with Helping Hands since 2022, starting part time as the Male Support Worker but soon making the role full time to meet the demands of our clients. Our men’s support group Daniel’s Rise is growing from strength to strength and is one of my favourite parts of the week. I love supporting the men who come to us and watching them grow in confidence to become valued parts of the community again. Outside of Helping Hands I play the drums and love walks with my dog, I’m also learning to paddleboard!”

Jacqui Grove
Fundraising Manager
“Hi, I’m Jacqui – the Fundraising and Communications Coordinator here! I’m passionate about turning ideas into meaningful campaigns that make a real difference. Whether it’s crafting messages that connect or bringing a bit of fundraising magic to life, I love finding creative ways to share our story. With a cup of tea always nearby and a head full of ideas, I’m here to keep our community inspired, informed, and ready to take action.”

Ana Frampton
Volunteer Coordinator
“My role as Volunteer Coordinator sees me look after our lovely (100+!) volunteers across all of our projects, while also recruiting new volunteers, overseeing training and inductions, while making sure each team has enough people to deliver our much needed services. Our volunteers are the backbone of our charity so I’m really enjoying the role. The volunteer phone is infamous and is constantly pinging! In my spare time I love learning and helping people; I have a love of languages, I also play the cello and saxophone, and am training to be a Firefighter.”

Johanna Cox
Data Analyst
I work as a part-time data analyst, supporting our projects by helping colleagues manage and make sense of their data, measure the impact of their work, and implement new systems. I maintain dashboards, support data collection and reporting, and enjoy translating complex information into simple insights—I particularly enjoy problem-solving and finding solutions that help people work smarter. Outside of work I spend most of my time with my family and our dog, keeping active, tackling home and garden renovation projects, and winding down with a cup of tea and a jigsaw puzzle.

Paul Shakespeare
Charity Shop Assistant
“In 2017 I was homeless and came to Helping Hands to volunteer, this gave me a hand up and a purpose to get up each morning . With the support of P3 I was given somewhere to live . Helping Hands has been a great support to me , I am now a paid shop assistant two days a week and get to help lots of other people who need support.”
Our NHS Primary Care Team
Our team runs a drop-in clinic twice a month at Helping Hands — on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 10:00 to 14:00. Anyone registered with a Leamington GP surgery is welcome to come and speak with us during these times. We aim to make primary care more accessible and supportive for people who may be facing complex challenges or barriers to healthcare.
