Fundraising Ideas

Empowering Lives, Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Futures.

Bring people together and make a real impact by fundraising for Helping Hands.

There are so many ways to get involved in a way that suits you – whether it is hosting a bake sale, organising a quiz night, running a raffle or taking on a sponsored challenge. You can raise funds at work, in your community, or with friends and family – every effort helps us support people recovering from trauma and moving beyond homelessness.

We are here to help every step of the way with ideas, guidance, and resources to make your fundraising a success – and enjoyable too!

Here are a few fundraising ideas that we love:

Bake sale

Bake sales are a fun and rewarding way to fundraise – perfect for all ages.

Whether you are hosting a stall at school, selling treats in your local community, or bringing cakes into the office, it is a brilliant way to bring people together, raise funds, and enjoy some delicious bakes – all while making a real difference.

Wear orange

Make a bold statement on World Homeless Day – wear orange on October 10th to show your support for those affected by trauma and homelessness. Whether it is at school, at work, or with your local community group, encourage everyone to wear orange for the day and donate to Helping Hands. It is a simple, powerful way to raise both awareness and vital funds – helping us continue our work supporting people on their journey to recovery.

Host a quiz

Hosting a quiz night is a fun and engaging way to bring people together while supporting Helping Hands. Include friends, family, or colleagues, and test your knowledge and raise vital funds at the same time. Ask participants to make a small donation or entry fee and consider adding a raffle or prize draw to boost your fundraising even further. It is a wonderful way to have a laugh, spark some friendly competition, and make a real difference in the lives of those we support.

Mark a special occasion

Turn your special moments into meaningful support. Celebrating a birthday, wedding, graduation, or retirement? Consider asking for donations to Helping Hands in place of cards or gifts. By choosing to fundraise in celebration, you are helping people in our community move forward from trauma and homelessness – making your milestone even more impactful.

Share your skills

We are always inspired by the creativity and generosity of our supporters. Whether you are a yoga instructor, artist, musician, or craft enthusiast, you can use your unique skills to make a difference for people affected by trauma and homelessness. Host a class, sell your handmade creations, or showcase your talents and donate the proceeds to Helping Hands. Every act of creativity brings hope, healing, and support to those who need it most.
