Helping Hands is reliant on the generosity of an army of wonderful volunteers; without whom we would be unable to consistently reach, help and guide some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Our motto at Helping Hands is that we provide ‘a hand-up, not just a hand-out’.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future. Through our community projects, we provide:

Supporting Pathways into Employment
We support individuals in building the skills, confidence and experience needed to return to work.
Our employment support includes:
- Mentoring and personalised guidance
- Skills workshops and practical training
- Work experience opportunities
We’re proud to have supported over 30 clients into employment in recent years, and we remain committed to helping even more people build brighter futures.
“Phoebus colleagues have supported Helping Hands Soup Kitchen Takeovers each month in 2024. Our colleagues have very much enjoyed the environment, being part of the wider team at HH and the work that is done, meeting the soup kitchen clients and seeing first hand the benefit the soup kitchen provides, being able to do something practical to help others and the teamwork involved! Everyone found the experience to be fun and very positive!!
Corporate Social Responsibility – Partner with us
Over the years our corporate partners and volunteers have been instrumental in helping us to deliver our services to those in need within our community. Depending on the skill sets within your organisation, there could be a number of unique ways your team could support us.
