What we do
We extend compassionate and practical support to those struggling with the causes and effects of homelessness and trauma. We offer a listening ear and qualified counselling from experienced advisors, but believe very much in providing a ‘hand-up’ not just a ‘hand out.’ Our mission is to empower everyone who comes to us to realise their full potential and create a brighter future.
Since 2015, when the charity was created, Helping Hands has provided a safe space and practical support to thousands of vulnerable people. Powered by the amazing generosity of the business community and driven by our wonderful volunteers, we provide opportunities for those experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, isolation, poverty and mental health challenges to build a better future.
In these difficult times, our offer is constantly growing and evolving to meet the needs of the individuals and families we support. Our services now include:
Lighthouse Charity Shop
Soup kitchen and breakfast service
Elijah’s rest – Men’s support group
Esther group – Female support group
