Our Frequently asked questions
General
We’re a non-profit project supported by community donations, small grants, and fundraising. Every donated item or pound helps someone rebuild their life with dignity.
We support people with vulnerabilities within Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and surrounding areas. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are looking for support around the causes and effects of homelessness, these might be mental health, homelessness, domestic abuse, poverty or isolation.
People can self refer or can be referred to us from agencies and support organisations.
Yes you can. Please email office@helpinghandscharity.org.uk and ask for a referral form or to speak to one of our support workers.
Please read our volunteer page and complete the volunteer form on the page. Our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you very soon!
You can make a one-off or monthly donation. See our Donate page for ways to donate. Financial support helps us cover fuel costs, replacement items, and urgent needs not covered by donated goods.
House 2 Home
The House 2 Home project helps individuals and families in crisis—such as those fleeing domestic abuse, moving from homelessness, or facing extreme financial hardship—by providing essential household items to help them settle into safe and comfortable homes.
We support local people in need—including those referred by housing associations, social services, domestic violence charities, and community partners—who are moving into unfurnished accommodation or rebuilding their lives after hardship.
We always need clean, good-condition household essentials, including:
• Beds and mattresses (clean and usable)
• Sofas and seating
• Dining tables and chairs
• Kettles, toasters, microwaves
• Pots, pans, cutlery, and crockery
• NEW Bedding (duvets, pillows, sheets)
• NEW Towels and Tea Towels
• Cleaning items (brooms, bins, mops)
• Storage units (chests of drawers, wardrobes)
If you’re not sure whether an item is suitable, just ask!
